How to make homemade soap

It is not difficult to make your own soap, provided you follow these basic rules. Making soap is a very popular hobby, and most homemade soaps are made from soap bases. This guide will show you what to do with soap base soap. However, the main activities will be similar regardless of the recipe and whether you use a 100% herbal, natural or organic soap base. You can buy a soap base at your local home remedy store or online.

1st step

Divide the soap base into smaller pieces to ensure even melting. You can use a regular kitchen knife to cut the soap dough into smaller pieces.

2nd step

Usually, the soap dough manufacturer has indicated a melting temperature of the soap base, on average it is around +65 C / 149 F. You can melt the soap base in the pot filled with water or in the stovetop or microwave oven. Note that you need to melt the soap dough, do not boil it, so carefully watch the dough as you melt it.

3rd step

Adding color to your soap. Depending on the recipe, you can use synthetic pigments and various minerals and oxides in powder form, or you can use your own coloring prepared from plant juices, extracts, etc. If necessary, for example, cocoa powder should be mixed in a small amount of water to prevent it from sticking and becoming a large lump once added to the soap mass. Some Hobby stores also sell special soap colors, these colors do not have to be prepared and can be added directly to your soap mass. Note: adding sour fruit juices will make the color smooth. For example, if you want your soap to be red, use beet juice. Orange: Use carrot juice if you are going to use a slightly yellow, not orange, orange juice soap.

4th step

If you want to add abrasive particles, they must be added to the melted soap base by gradually mixing the dough. Don't forget to prepare them in advance. For example, you can, ground oat flakes, dried flowers, poppy seeds, citrus bran or zest or anything that is fragrant.

5th step

Add etherized fragrance or fragrance oil. They should be added according to your own taste, there are no guidelines here. Each of us smells things differently. What may be strong for some people may seem like a very weekly fragrance to others, so after adding fragrance oil, smell the soap dough again. The smell should be pleasant, but a little strong, because by cooling the soap it will lose some of the carrot soap benefits.

6th step

Now is the time to turn your liquid soap into bars of soap. For forms of soap, you can use special forms of soap or any everyday container, such as yogurt dishes, containers with Pringles chips, etc. Depending on the mass of soap and the size of a container you've made, it can take up to 8 hours for the soap to cool, but be sure, you can let it cool for up to 12 hours.

7th step

Take the soap out of its shape and start cutting them into smaller pieces. Homemade soaps can be used as gifts or daily for you and your family.

Give someone an original and nice gift made by yourself. Let's wash some hands.
